Benecos

En osta meikkejä kovin usein, vaikka käytänkin niitä säännöllisesti. Minulla ei myöskään ole budjettia, eikä halua maksaa meikkituotteista maltaita, joten käytin rutkasti aikaa etsiessäni netin syövereistä luonnonkosmetiikan meikkejä, jotka olisivat myös edullisia. Oikeastaan ainoa vaihtoehto hinnan suhteen oli Benecos, joten päädyin tilaamaan kokeeksi meikkivoiteen, ripsivärin ja rajauskynän. Ripsiväriä en ole vielä kokeillut, mutta meikkivoide ja kynä tuntuvat olevan hinta-laatu-suhteeltaan ok. Ostanen näitä siis toistekin, tosin meikkivoiteen täytynee olla tummempi ensi kerralla.

I do not buy make up products very often, even if I use them regularly. I also don't have too much money or want to pay very much for them, so I spent a lot of time to look for some organic cosmetic make up products with reasonable price. Benecos seemed to be the cheapest brand, so I ordered foundation, mascara and kajal pencil. I haven't tried mascara yet, but foundation and pencil are rather good for that value of money. I think I will buy these in the future too, only foundation need to be more dark shade than this one is.

Virheostoksia - Some shopping errors

Pitkästä aikaa minäkin olen täällä näppäimistön ääressä! :) Koska kamerani laturi on ollut hukassa koko kesän, ja tietokoneenikin otti ja hajosi, niin en ole päässyt tekemään mitään tämän harrastuksen eteen. Tosin eipä olisi kovin paljon ollut kirjoitettavaakaan, mutta paikataan tilanne nyt, kun sain tänään postissa uuden tarvikelaturin ja uusi tietsikkakin pelaa.

Koska en tänä vuonna ehtinyt ja jaksanut tehdä kunnollista kosmetiikka-arsenaalia lomaa varten, jouduin turvautumaan kaupan tuotteisiin. Tässä muutamia ostoksiani, jotka osoittautuivat pettymyksiksi. :(

Meikkini alkoivat olla finaalissa, joten tilasin ensimmäistä kertaa luonnonkosmetiikkatuotteita. Jotenkin naiivisti olin kuvitellut, että luonnonkosmetiikan täytyy olla muutenkin parempaa, tai ainakin hyvää. Mutta ainakaan tässä tapauksessa niin ei ollut. Ostin Laveran meikkivoiteen ja Alvan ripsivärin, ja molemmat ovat kyllä toiminnaltaan huomattavan paljon huonompia, kuin markettien tusinatuotteet.

Shampoopalani on suunniteltu talvipakkasten kuivattamille hiuksille ja päänahalle, joten kesän helteiden jatkuessa ei palojen teho enää tuntunut riittävät alati hikoilevaan päänuppiini. Niinpä päädyin ostamaan BorntoBion nokkos-sitruuna shampoon - joka on kyllä niin tehokkaasti pesevä, että koko letti kuivui korpuksi kertapesulla. En siis suosittelisi tätäkään tuotetta kenellekään.

En ollut varannut kasvoille mitään tehokkaampaa voidetta, ja kun rasvaus ylipäätään tahtoi vähän unohtua, huomasin jossain vaiheessa kasvojeni olevan huutavasti kosteutuksen ja hoitavan voiteen tarpeessa. En päässyt tekemään itse mitään, joten ostin hätäpäissäni Biothermin  Aquasource SuperSerumin. Kaupassa en incilistaa joutanut pänttäämään, ajattelin vain, että ovathan Biothermin tuotteet varmaan aika hyviä. Väärässä olin tässäkin - seerumi on niin täynnä kaikkea, mitä en iholleni enää halua, että melkein itketti, kun ostos oli kuitenkin aika tyyris. Eikä se järin kummoiselta käytössäkään tuntunut.

Olin välillä viikon kotona, joten paikkasin tuon vikatikin sillä, että sekoitin kiiruusti tutun aloegeeli-rypäleensiemenöljy seoksen, jota buustasin kauraproteiinilla ja pantenolilla. Ehdottomasti paras ratkaisu, kasvot tuntuivat jo yhden kerran jälkeen hyvin kosteutetuilta ja iho kimmoisalta ja sileältä.

Se tuttu ja turvallinen, vähän buustattuna - ihan best! :D

Yhden onnistuneen kosmetiikkaostoksen minä kuitenkin tein. Hankin hammassaippuan ja kookosöljytahnan rinnalle vuoroteltavaksi Laveran Basis Sensitive -hammastahnan. Se tuntuu varsin hyvältä ja toimivalta, eikä saa välittömästi aikaiseksi oksennusreaktiota, kuten tavalliset hammastahnat tekevät.

I haven't been writing here for a very long time, but now I am in front of the keyboard again! :) Because the battery charger of my camera has been lost the whole summer, and my computer broke totally, I haven't been able to do anything for this hobby. On the other hand, I wouldn't have much to write about, but I will fix this problem now, I got a new charger today and my new computer seems to work also. 

I had to bought some commercial products during the summer, because I didn't have time and energy to make whole cosmetic arsenal for my vacation. I introduce here some products I bought, and they were disappointing, I can tell. :( 

I was running out of make up products, so I ordered some commercial organic cosmetic for the first time. 
I've been naively thinking that organic cosmetic should be better in every case, or at least good. But in this case it was not. I bought liquid foundation from Lavera and mascara from Alva, and both of them function much worse than cheap market products.

My shampoo bars are planned to be used in winter time, when cold air dries hair and scalp. So, when summer heat seemed to go on and on, those shampoo bars were not effective enough when my head was sweating all the time. That's why I bought nettle-lemon organic shampoo from BorntoBio - and that washes so  effectively that my hair was dry as a rusk (we say "kuiva kuin korppu" in Finnish, I don't know how that works in English) after one wash. I wouldn't  recommend this product for anyone. 

I didn't have any more nurturing cream for my face and when using any cream or lotion seemed to forget, I noticed at some point that my face screamed more moisturizing and nurturing cream. I didn't have a chance to make anything myself, so I panicked and bought Biotherm's Aquasource SuperSerum. I didn't have time to read inci list when I was in the store, only thought that Biotherm's products are quite good. I was wrong again - that serum is so full of all those ingredients I don't want to put on my skin anymore. That almost made me cry, because serum was quite expensive. And it doesn't feel very well when I use it.  

I was one week at home, so I fixed that wrong move by mixing quickly my familiar aloe gel - grape seed oil mix and boosted it with oat protein and panthenol. That was definitely the best move, because my face felt so moisturized after one time and my skin was very smooth and elastic. 

I still made one successful cosmetic shopping. I bought Lavera's Basis Sensitive tooth paste to use besides my tooth soap and coconut oil tooth paste. It felt quite good and well working and it won't make me puke like regular tooth pastes will. 

Meikkivoide nro 3 - Make up foundation no 3

Kokeilin aikaisemmin kahta versiota meikkivoiteeksi. Toinen ei toiminut oikeastaan ollenkaan, toinen oli ihan toimiva huonosta rakenteestaan ja vaaleudestaan huolimatta. Sen olenkin nyt käyttänyt miltei kokonaan, joten oli aika tehdä uusi ja paranneltu satsi.

Tästä tuli aika onnistunut koostumukseltaan ja väriltään, se on mukavan ohut ja kevyt rasvaisuudestaan huolimatta. Peittävä se ei kuitenkaan edelleenkään ole, mutta onneksi en itse sellaista meikkivoidetta tarvitsekaan.

Meikkivoide

Öljyfaasi / oil phase:

10 g aprikoosinkiviöljyä / apricot kernel oil
10 g rypäleensiemenöljyä / grape seeds oil
  1 g setyylialkoholia / cetyl alcohol
  2 g BTMS
  1 g emulgointihiutaleita / emulsifying flakes

Vesifaasi / water phase:

10 g aloe geeliä / aloe gel
20 g aloe mehua / aloe juice

  1 g Opthiphen /preservative
  E -vitamiiniöljyä / vitamin E
+
2 tl puuteriseosta / powder mix :

1    tl arrowjuurijauhetta / arrow root powder
1/4 tl kaakaojauhetta / cocoa powder
1/4 tl carobjauhetta / carob powder
1/8 tl inkiväärijauhetta / ginger powder
1/4 tl kaoliinisavea  / caolin clay
1/4 tl vaaleanpunaista savea / pink clay
         ruskeaa ja keltaista rautaoksidia / brown and yellow iron oxides
         titaanidioksidia / titanium oxide
         sinkkidioksidia / zinc oxide

I tried two version for make up foundation earlier. Other one didn't work at all, but that other was quite good even if the structure was bad and colour too light. I have used that one almost completely, so it was time to make new and better batch. 

I think I managed to create pretty good stuff this time. Structure is fine, so is the colour, foundation is nicely thin and light, even if it is quite oily. It still doesn't cover anything, but fortunately I don't need foundation that covers.

Meikkivoide - Liquid foundation

Kirpulle jo kerroinkin, että löysin nestemäisen meikkivoiteen ohjeen, jota haluan testata. En ole lopputulokseen oikein tyytyväinen, voide ei peitä mitään ja väri jää helposti epätasaiseksi. Mutta värillisen päivävoiteen tämä voisi kesäaikaan korvata.

I already told Kirppu, that I found recipe for liquid foundation I want to test. I am not very pleased with the results, this foundation won't cover anything and colour is not smooth enough. But I think I could use this as coloured day cream at summer time.

Kokeilin myös toista ohjetta, joka kuulosti ja näytti kuvissa kyllä hyvältä. Tein jokseenkin ohjeen mukaan, mitat ainoastaan laitoin grammoina, mutta mittasuhteet pysyivät samoina. Emulgointiaineen määrässä lienee ollut joku viba, sillä minun meikkivoiteeni ei ole nestettä nähnytkään. Siitä tuli niin paksua, tahnamaista vaahtoa, ettei sitä saanut pulloon. Kaavin loput kiireesti toiseen purkkiin ja yritin pulloversiota ohentaa vielä aloe geelillä ja -mehulla. Voide tuntuu kyllä ihan hyvältä, mutta sen peittävyydestä en ole vakuuttunut. Omani on myös todella paljon vaaleampaa, kuin alkuperäisen ohjeen kuvassa. Olen yhden kerran nyt oikeasti käyttänyt tuota pullossa olevaa meikkiä, sillä saa varsinaisen posliini-ihon. Hiukan kuivattavalta voide tuntui, johtunee ehkä titaanidioksiinista?

I also tried another recipe, which sounded and looked good in the pictures. I did almost exactly as recipe told me, I only measured in grams, relations were still the same. I'm sure there has to be some mistake in the amount of emulsifier, because my foundation is not nearly liquid like. It is so thick, paste like foam, that I couldn't get it into bottle. I put the rest of it to another jar and tried to add aloe gel and -juice to bottle to make foundation more liquid. Foundation feels alright, but I'm not sure if it still covers anything. Mine is much more lighter than the one in the original recipe's photo. I've used that make up in the bottle once, and it makes porcelein-kind of skin. This foundation feels little bit drying on my skin, maybe because of titanium oxide?
