Ainakin itse pääsin noista ongelmista eroon hammassaippuan avulla.
Hammastahnan kaveriksi tilasin suuveden.
I ordered something else too from GreenDeal besides of deodorant. Even if I still like my tooth soap (and my dentist had nothing to notice about, except that I have great teeth), I wanted "normal" tooth paste for a change and to take with me when I am travelling all the time. This leaves stronger fresh taste than Lavera's paste I had earlier, and it is pretty good otherwise too - but this includes one bad thing - glycerin. My theory is that glycerin as a humectant is the thing that causes discolouration of the teeth when you drink coffee, tea, wine etc., because colours from those drinks stuck to the glycerin which stuck to your teeth. I haven't had those problems since I started to use tooth soap.
I ordered mouth water too. I was sceptic first because of the small size of the bottle, but when I read instructions and tried it, I changed my mind. You only need 5 drops of that stuff using with small amount of water, so little bottle will last long time, it is easy to take with you - and it is ecological too!

Deodotestausta - Testing new deodos
Olen taas sortunut ostamaan muutaman uuden luonnonkosmetiikkadeodorantin kokeiltavaksi.
Ensimmäinen on BorntoBion aloedeodo.
I have bought some new organic deodorants to try, again.
First one was aloe deodo from BorntoBio. I've tried to use it few times now, but I cannot say anything about it's effectiveness, because I can't get the stuff out of the bottle. I think that is weird, because I've had a rose version from that serie earlier, and it worked nicely.
This other one, stick version, I ordered from Green Deal. That works okey (maybe), but it is not effective enough for this kind of stinky sweaty person as I am. Other minus is that it contains alcohol.

Ei-niin-onnistunut hennaus - Not-so-succesful-henna dyeing
I had read about how different kind henna products have much difference in their quality, but I didn't realize how huge that difference really is. During Christmas holiday I tried desperately find henna to make my gray roots to disappear, but I couldn't find it from my regular markets anymore. Finally I managed to find one package this kind of henna from Punnitse&Säästä-store. It was a little bit more expensive than Satva or Light Mountain I've been using last few years, so I expected that to be same quality at least - but it was far from that. I made colour mix as usually and everything worked normally this far. When I started to put mix to my hair that didn't manage at all, mix was falling all over my bathroom as big clumps, that part I could get to my head didn't spread nicely and I needed to use all that mix for a first time ever - and there was still not enough for my hair tips. I couldn't make my gray roots disappear as I hoped, so the whole process was totally unsuccessful. Red colour faded more brownish from elsewhere, but that didn't last long either.
After this experience I do not recommend this product for anyone, you will avoid problems when you leave these to the stores! I am going to stay stuck with Satva and Light Mountain from now on, because I know they work well, I just need to find them somewhere...

Just like last year, some of my friends got mulled wine soap as Christmas gift. I used red wine and mulled wine as liquid this time too, but all the fats were not the same. I didn't have enough canola oil, so I used some sun flower oil instead. This time I didn't use any mulled wine spices, but I scented soap with Christmas spice fragrance oil. I tried to get some colour using red iron oxide, but I obviously used too little of it, because the colour is not any stronger than without the oxide. I decorated my soap with star anise.

Tervasalva - Tar salve
Tervasaippuan kaveriksi joulupukin konttiin päätyi myös pienet purkilliset tervasalvaa. Myös nämä olivat Jan Berryn reseptillä tehtyjä.
Tervasalva -Tar salve
2,4 dl voikukka-uutettua auringonkukkaöljyä / dandelion infused sun flower oil
6 tl mehiläisvahaa / bees wax
2 rkl tervaa / tar
1 tl hiiltä / charcoal
Besides of the tar soap I made also small jars of tar salve as Christmas gifts. These were also made by Jan Berry's recipe, I only changes measurements.

Tervasaippua - Tar soap
I've been wanted to make tar soap myself for a long time, but only when Jan Berry published her recipe I grabbed from reflection to action. I made my soap following Jan's recipe, I only changed it to grams. I normally use MMS's lye calculator, but there was no tar in it, so I had to resorted to SoapCalc. I wanted to make my soap as OHP at first, but after I read Jan's instructions I thought that might not work out because tar could make soap really thick very quickly. That's why you shouldn't use stick blender either. Well, then I made my soap as CP, but I needed to use stick blender after all, because my soap didn't get the trace otherwise. Jan's tar soap is light brown, but mine is almost black. I wanted my soaps to be round, so I used a Pringles package as a mold. I was too busy - and lazy - so I didn't have time or energy to fight with taping and I thought that soap would press lining paper against to the mold, so I wouldn't even need to use the lining paper. Well, I was wrong and that didn't work as I thought, soap went between the paper and the mold and I didn't get round and beautiful soaps. But soap feels nice, and it leaves faint tar scent on the skin. I gave these soaps as Christmas presents.
This soap became my new favorite after first time of using it. I wrote earlier about my itchy scalp, this tar soap helped amazingly with that and it feel nice on the skin. I need to make a new batch now, because I only got one bar from this one.

Pihlajaiset puhdistuspalat - Rowan cleansing bars
Talvi-iho kaipaa välillä ehkä hellempää puhdistusta. Niinpä tein pihlajasarjani viimeiseksi tuotteeksi muutaman teeman mukaisen puhdistuspalan.
Pihlajaiset puhdistuspalat - Rowan cleansing bars
11 g aloevoita / aloe butter
10 g karitevoita / shea butter
13,5 g macadamiaöljyä
6,5 g risiiniöljyä / castor oil
11 g vaaleanpunaista ranskalaista savea / pink French clay
7 g kaurajauhetta /oat groats
1 g pihlajarouhetta / rowan berry groats
Winter skin might need more gentle cleansing every now and then. So I made few cleansing bars as last products of my rowan series. There isn't too much rowan in these, because I couldn't ground dried berries fine enough. I got only three bars from this recipe for some reason, but I'll split them to nine smaller piece, so I can manage with these for some time.
